An Upcoming Dragon Ball Series Has Been Officially Confirmed!

Dragon Ball Daima is the name of a new anime show that will star kid versions of Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, and many other beloved characters.

At New York Comic Con’s Dragon Ball panel, a three-minute trailer for Dragon Ball Daima was shown. The trailer is now on Toei Animation’s YouTube account. Look at this:

The trailer starts with a nostalgic look back at the famous manga and anime series, starting with Dragon Ball in 1986 and moving on to Dragon Ball Z in 1989 and the often-forgotten Dragon Ball GT in 1996. After a few stand-alone movies, the most recent series, Dragon Ball: Super, came out in 2015.

Now, Dragon Ball Daima starts a new era for the series. It has a brand-new story written by the show’s author, Akira Toriyima, who will also be designing the characters. We don’t know much about the plot yet, but the video shows new drawings of Goku, Vegeta, Bulma, Chi-Chi, Piccolo, Mr. Satan, Krillin, Android 18, Marron, Yamcha, Oolong, Puar, Supreme Kai, and Master Roshi that look a bit like Chibi kids. I have no idea how any of this fits into a logical schedule, but it looks cute any way you look at it.

There is no dialogue or plot summary in the trailer, but the general tone seems to be fun, even compared to Dragon Ball Z and Super, which have seasons with a mix of silly big battles and silly character-driven scenes.

It will start airing in the fall of 2024.
