How to Watch Yellowstone Spinoff Shows?

Numerous of Yellowstone’s spinoffs do not air on Paramount Network, even though Yellowstone itself does.

1883, with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as James and Margaret Dutton, had its first two episodes on the Paramount Network. However, Paramount+ was the only place to watch the rest of the shows.

Similarly, Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford’s 1923 had its premiere on both Paramount Network and Paramount+ at the same time. After that, the rest of the shows were only available on Paramount+.

Paramount+ will also have the new Yellowstone spinoff, 6666. A release date hasn’t been set yet, though.

Is Season 5 The Final Season of Yellowstone?

The news came out on May 3, 2023, that Kevin Costner would not be coming back as John Dutton III. Costner allegedly got into a fight with Taylor Sheridan over the actor’s work schedule and pay. A lot of people thought that the show would go on, but that the part would either be filled by someone else or Dutton III would be dropped completely. We quickly learned, though, that Yellowstone would end after the second half of season 5.

Sheridan talked about Costner’s departure and said:

My last conversation with Kevin was that he had this passion project he wanted to direct. He and the network were arguing about when he could be done with Yellowstone. I said, ‘We can certainly work a schedule toward [his preferred exit date],’ which we did. My opinion of Kevin as an actor hasn’t altered. His creation of John Dutton is symbolic and powerful … and I’ve never had an issue with Kevin that he and I couldn’t work out on the phone.

But once lawyers get involved, then people don’t get to talk to each other and start saying things that aren’t true and attempt to shift blame based on how the press or public seem to be reacting. He took a lot of this on the chin and I don’t know that anyone deserves it. His movie seems to be a great priority to him and he wants to shift focus. I sure hope [the movie is] worth it — and that it’s a good one.

There are still stories to be told in the Yellowstone brand, even though the main series is almost over. Like 1883, 1923, Bass Reeves, and other spin-offs, this new show with Matthew McConaughey will carry on the show’s heritage. That means fans will still be able to live the wild west life after the present show ends this summer.
