My Love Story!! Manga Makes a Comeback With 2 New Chapters

Kazune Kawahara and Aruko’s love comedy shōjo manga series My Love Story!! (Ore Monogatari!!) will return for two chapters starting in the January issue, which goes on sale December 13. This was announced in the December issue of Shueisha’s Bessatsu Margaret magazine on Monday.

“Everyone starts a part-time job at a resort during the winter break for college,” the magazine says of the new chapters’ plot. “But there seems to be a mysterious mansion…”

The show had come back before for a side story in 2018.

The original 100-page version of the story was first published by Kawahara in an issue of Bessatsu Margaret Sister in October 2011. The manga then came back in Bessatsu Margaret as an ongoing work. In July 2016, the series came to an end.

In North America, Viz Media released all 13 volumes of the manga. Here’s how they explain the story:

Takeo Gōda has a huge heart for a guy his size. It’s too bad the girls don’t want him! (They want Sunakawa, his good-looking best friend.) Takeo is used to being on the outside, so he just stands tall and accepts what will happen. Though, when he protects Yamato from a bully on the train, his (love!) life takes a huge turn for the better!

In April 2015, a cartoon version of My Love Story!! came out, and in October 2015, a live-action movie with Ryōhei Suzuki and Mei Nagano came out. The anime series was put out on home video by Sentai Filmworks with an English dub.

In October 2022, the artistic team got back together to work on a manga called “Uso ka Makoto ka Yume ka Koi” (Is This Love a Lie, the Truth, or a Dream?). It had two chapters.

From June 2019 to June 2022, Aruko and Wataru Hinekure wrote the comic My Love Mix-Up! (Kieta Hatsukoi). It was published by Shueisha in the Bessatsu Margaret magazine. There are nine parts to the comic. The comic will be out in English through Viz Media. A live-action show based on the book started airing in Japan in October 2021. In December 2021, Viki streamed the show in English. A live-action show from Thailand that will air in 2024 is also based on the show.
